About

Independent research.
Clear intelligence.

The firm

Polaris Research provides independent competitive intelligence and market analysis for founders, operators, and investors. The focus is on clear, decision-oriented research rather than generic market reports.

Most market research describes what exists. Polaris Research analyses what it means. Every engagement starts from a decision: what does the client need to understand in order to act? That question determines the scope, the methodology, and the format of the output.

The firm works with early-stage startups preparing for fundraising, operators entering new markets, and investors evaluating competitive landscapes before committing capital. Engagements are scoped for speed — most deliver in 7–10 working days — without trading off the rigour that makes the research actually useful.

What Polaris is not

These distinctions matter for understanding whether the fit is right before engaging.

Not a data aggregator

The value is in synthesis and interpretation, not data volume. Polaris Research doesn't sell database access or automated competitive monitoring.

Not a large consultancy

There are no junior associates doing initial research while a partner appears at the final presentation. The work is done directly by the analyst leading the engagement.

Not a generic market report

Every engagement is scoped around a specific decision and a specific market. Polaris Research doesn't publish pre-built reports or off-the-shelf research packages.

Not vendor-aligned

Polaris Research has no vendor relationships, no affiliate revenue, and no commercial interest in any particular competitive outcome. The analysis goes where the evidence goes.

How we work

Four principles behind every engagement

01

Decisions first

Research that isn't tied to a decision is expensive curiosity. Every engagement starts by identifying what needs to change for the client to act with more confidence.

02

Evidence, not instinct

Every claim is sourced. Every assumption is documented. Confidence levels are stated explicitly — you always know exactly what the analysis is based on and how much to trust it.

03

A point of view

Reports include specific, directional strategic observations — not a balanced summary that leaves all the thinking to the client. If the evidence supports a position, we take it.

04

Speed as a feature

Markets move. Strategy should inform decisions now, not sit in a queue. Most engagements complete in 7–10 working days from brief to final delivery.
